When their daughter, Kate, was born with medical complications, Jeremy Hilton and his wife were told that she might not survive. If she did survive, she would need constant supervision and would likely never walk or talk. This is when Jeremy, now a public policy advocate, resigned his commission, put his career on hold, and laid down all that had been important todo something he deemed much more important: care for Kate and advocate on behalf of military children. Jeremy’ s public policy experience culminated when he testified in front of the Senate Armed Services Committee. With the help of other organizations, he compiled 80 different personal accounts to lobby on behalf of exceptional family members. Jeremy himself recently obtained a Master’ s degree in Legislative Affairs to further his career in advocacy.
