Mica Alexander’ s professional life has been like a river that cyclically swells and abates with the changes in season and climate. Though she is currently a successful healthcare executive, her career path over 14 years of marriage, 10 military moves, and 3 children, has been one defined byseveral periods of ebband flow as she has gone back and forth between work and home. “Being a military spouse and then being a professional can befantastic and can also be challenging.” Mica recommends that as the military drills soldiers to equip them with the skills they need to survive challenging situations, as spouses, we must bolster ourselves similarly. When faced with periods of career drought, “You just have to keep going,” she advises. “Bring everything to the table and focus on your strengths and what you do well.”
