Susan Malandrino has more than a decade of experience as a marketing and communications professional. Her work, largely in the educational realm, has focused on branding, strategic communication and public relations. Most recently, Susan served as the Director of Marketing and Communications at Old Dominion University, where she developed institution-wide advertising campaigns, oversaw the university’s branding initiative and served as the university spokesperson for a variety of media inquires and crisis communications. Previously, Susan was the Director of Marketing and Communications for Norfolk Collegiate School, where she oversaw a branding redesign of the school’s marketing materials, website and online communities. Susan has also served as a book editor and technical writer. With the arrival of twins and three military moves in just over four years, Susan has continued her marketing work as a freelance consultant. She has also devoted her professional efforts to physical fitness. As a certified personal trainer and cycling instructor, she’s taught at a variety of civilian and military gyms at different duty stations. Susan holds a bachelor of arts in communication and media relations from the University of South Carolina and a master of arts in humanities and communication from Old Dominion University.
